Caption 3South China University of Technology (SCUT), located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, is a comprehensive research-oriented university directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is co-constructed by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and is selected as a national "Double First-Class" university, a key university under the "Project 211" and "Project 985" initiatives. Caption 10Addressing the industry problems such as poor reliability of cables and lack of intelligent early warning in special environments, the project developed cables and intelligent early warning monitoring systems for special environments, with the main innovations as follows:

Constructed an integrated technical system of intelligent early warning and adaptive thermal management featuring "perception-decision-control", realizing the transformation of cables from passive power transmission to active safety protection.

Developed a distributed optical fiber temperature measurement system, which has the characteristics of high temperature/space resolution and long single-channel monitoring distance, enabling advanced early warning of cables and linkage with the Internet of Things (IoT).

Caption 11Proposed a collaborative protection and integrated design method for cable functions targeting scenarios such as fire prevention, weather resistance and electromagnetic interference resistance, achieving the goals of low flame spread, low total heat release and excellent weather resistance of fire-resistant cables, and meeting the application requirements of multiple scenarios in special environments.

Developed materials such as biodegradable bio-based heat-shrinkable films. Through cable structural design and material combination, the heat dissipation efficiency of cables under abnormal working conditions has been significantly improved. The related products have good green and low-carbon characteristics, realizing the application of green and low-carbon manufacturing technology in the cable industry.

Caption 12During the implementation of the project, 25 invention patents have been authorized, indicating independent intellectual property rights.

Caption 13The Appraisal Committee concluded that the project is highly innovative, with the overall technology reaching the internationally advanced level, and agreed to pass the scientific and technological achievement appraisal.
